Celebrating The Raw Beauty of Nina Skarra's designs.

Fashion Designer Nina Skarra was born in Tromso, the arctic city of Northern Lights, in Norway. The internationally awarded Norwegian designer started out as an illustrator and graphic designer. She was then known for her rough edge design and illustrations using torn paper.

After working as an illustrator, profile designer and Art Director within TV production, film and advertising in London and New York, Nina decided in 2005 to start working with her passion for textiles and fashion as a couture designer. In 2008 Nina Skarra launched her first collection. Since then the designer has grown rapidly to win the heart of French fashionistas, European royalties, stylist and celebrities, and invited to show her collection at Paris Fashion Week.

Nina Skarra’s collections combine the purity of Scandinavian design, known for its simplicity and the use of traditional sartorial craftsmanship, quality fabrics and a sustainable production process. She has perfected a timeless and pure design while still maintaining a strong DNA and working towards values and her strong belief and work for sustainability, transparency and empowerment in the fashion industry.

With ambitions to have a ‘global impact’ on the sustainability agenda, Nina Skarra is focusing on the development of green, sustainable design. The concept of Nina Skarra´s sustainability is about the whole footprint of the product, from raw material to disposal. Nina Skarra materials are silk, wool, bamboo, soya, eco leather, and organic cotton. All these materials are 100% biodegradable and 100% eco friendly.

Every aspect of the production process, the design, the distribution, everyday use and re-use is of importance. The core sustainability message to the customer is the sum of all the environmental friendly enhancements, documenting these improvements across the whole value chain and providing transparency through making this documentation available.
